Let’s Celebrate Easter!
With all the preparing for Easter, it has been hard to find the time to write this. I start thinking about holidays months in advance hoping to ‘be ready’, but still find myself at the store several days before. Here are some last minute ideas that I put together with my years of experiencing the last minute rush. Easter is what you make it. Therefore you have to create the mood and feel of Easter in order for it to be special. I had a ton of plastic eggs in many different sizes. Use string, yarn, or ribbon and clasp the eggs to create garland. You can use to trim your inside windows or bushes and trees outside. Use hot glue to make a loop for eggs to be hung like ornaments and decorate with markers and glitter (if desired). Be creative. Make Easter baskets fun. In addition to filling with candy add something personal or unique; a pair of goggles for summer, windup bathtub toy, or money inside plastic eggs. Walmart sells Easter Bunny $2 bills that have a picture of the famous guy in the middle. They are real money (it helps to encourage young children not to spend since they wouldn’t want to part with money from the bunny) Fill plastic eggs with small items or candy and hid in the back yard. Don’t forget to dye eggs. Use crayon before coloring to write each family members names on them. Decorate with glitter, markers, feathers, or wiggly eyes. Since Santa eats cookies the Easter Bunny must eat eggs. Make sure to leave some out for him the night before with carrots. Leave behind some crumbles and maybe some cotton stuck in the doorway where he got his tail caught! I hope these ideas make your Easter a little more enjoyable and magical.
